Melon schmelon..

Hi all :)
How are you beautiful people?  The weather is becoming better and so am I ;)
Also a lot of festivals and weddings are approaching and that means even lesser time for crafting :(
I've made a bright colorful card today and thought I'd share it with you guys.

Have a look

I have made this card on plain white cardstock. i have lightly inked the background with pink ink, drew circles on orange paper, the green edges and the seeds of the melon are embossed with clear embossing powder though I couldnt capture that in the pictures. The sentiment as usual is hand written :)...I think the sentiment has a nice sound to it :D
I also feel that the pictures have come out better this time...much better than my previous posts...thank God for that.. and I would also specially like to thank Dr. Sonia  for her tips on photography.

Im putting up this card for the following challenges-
Beyond grey challenges #18 - Photo inspiration
Sentimental Sundays - Anything Goes
Annabelle Stamps - say it with thanks

Happy a happy colorful day.
thanks for dropping by..xox..

I love cream n gold!

Heyyy,

I find the color combination of gold and cream very elegant and striking..what about you?
I made a card today with this color combination only. It's a simple one layer card and just has a hint of red for the sentiment which is handwritten. Actually I don't have any sentiment stamps and so I write them by hand, hence its not that perfect. The design is also made by hand again :))

The sentiment was stuck on with glue drops and I checked that it can be taken off...i just might do that coz I don't like it too much..let's see...

Just linking it to the ongoing celebration at Sindhu's blog...click here to check it out..
Cheers..
Hugs :)

A floral card

Hello there,
A big hug to u if you're reading this..feels great to know that people are going through my blog.
I've made a shabby chic card or rather I've tried to make one and I'm not very happy with the end result. So I've decided that I'll keep on practicing until I make a good one.
I'm linking this card for the following challenges -
Colleen's shabby chic challenge at Yvonne's blog (Do more with less )
Crafters corner challenge #1 - celebrate with flowers
Sindhu's ' trapped in craft ' challenge #2
Beyond Grey challenges - photo inspiration

The flowers are handmade and the butterflies are also hand drawn and cut. The white base is painted and sanded for a vintage-y look. And the sentiment is also hand written. The laces and pearls are from my stash.

Have a good day and keep crafting.
Adios :))

Favour a box?

Hello friends,
I hope you all are enjoying crafting your days away like me :)
I am quite active on my blog these days and I hope this continues and I don't disappear on breaks.

Today's post is about something that I really really enjoyed making. It's an altered box. The box came with a shawl that I brought and it was covered with nice subtle handmade paper which had the brand name printed on the front.

And this is what I turned it into

The box is all prettied up and ready for gifting..
I stuck small pieces of mirror at the Centre to give a broken mirror cum mosaic kind of a look, added a punchnella at the back and some handmade roses too. The rest of the box was given a golden texture with a hint of green to it.

Oh!! I also made a mini card or tag to go with this box..Here's it

I'm putting up this box for these challenges -
LESSology challenge 18 -its a wrap!
Itsy Bitsy - Big B challenge  (bow, beads and bling)

As usual I'm hungry for feedback..so do drop by..thank u :)
Have a good day!!

I have used a beige background as the base and shades of green and blue from my stash of scraps. Have tried to incorporate a lot of geometrical shapes too..oh and ya there is a dash of white too.
I'm putting up this card for these challenges

This used to be...a hair pin!

Hey dear bloggers..hope you all are doing well :)
I was inspired by the current challenge at Lulupu to come up with this post and idea.
What I did was to turn hair pains or bobby pins as some of you might call them into bookmarks. They were really quick and easy to make and look cute as bookmarks.  I need a lot of bookmarks as I tend to keep losing them all the time ;).. And I get bored of looking at the same bookmarks so these add a little variety too.

This is the type of hair pin which one used to make the bookmarks. They are commonly used to secure buns and I had a lot of these lying around from my wedding ;)..
This is what I turned the pin into.

I made some flowers, stuck them on one side of the pin (the side that will be out) and the inner plain side of the pin can be used to 'mark' the page.

Here is a little variety of the bookmarks that I made

The ones with the punched out flower, frog and the arrow sign can be used either ways..that is inside the book to mark the page or outside on the cover with the pin inside to mark the page .

I'm entering this for these challenges:

Please please do leave comments and let me know what you think about this idea. I'm relatively new to crafting and blogging and would love honest feedback about my work :)
Xoxo

Note-I just noticed that the pics aren't too clear..so I'm uploading two more pics. Hope they're better.

As pure as white

Hi everyone..
I have been keeping busy with something or the other hence haven't been posting. I did craft but somehow just couldn't upload the stuff...maybe I'm just lazy :)
For today I have made a White card..
All the flowers are handmade by me,  the swirls are made using white 3D liner and the sentiment is also hand written .. I'm rather proud of my hand work ;)

P.s- the flowers and everything on this card is white though it appears bluish or yellowish in the pics.

I am putting this card up for the following challenges

I hope u all will leave ur comments on this and let me know how you find this card :)
Love and best wishes
